Spiritual Resources

We hope the resources found on this page may enrich your spiritual journey during this unprecedented time when we cannot come together as a community of faith in familiar ways. One thing we know for certain is that God has never left us. He is as present to us today as before. May this time of uncertainty and isolation draw us ever closer to Him.

Young Adults

Online Resources

The Office of Young Adult Engagement has gathered resources such as virtual small groups, online prayer, ongoing retreats and more to help young adults grow spiritually and stay healthy during this time of social distancing. To learn more, click here.

Cor Nights

Cor Nights are prayer nights for young adults that are meant to be a time to rest and find peace in the calming atmosphere of God's presence. Live praise and worship music will be playing, a reflection on a Scripture passage will be shared and you can comment your prayer intentions as we go. Come to a time and space for the Holy Spirit to work in our hearts and bring about peace and healing (cor means "heart" in Latin). This event will be live streamed on the Chicago Theology On Tap Facebook page. Feel free to invite friends!

Confession During Pandemic

The archdiocese has given clear instructions not to hold any sacraments. When we have extraordinary circumstances - just like what we are living through right now - the Church recommends that we confess our sins to God directly and make a perfect act of contrition. A perfect act of contrition requires sincere repentance for our sins and a firm resolve to amend our lives. We should promise that we will go to confession as soon as it is available. God forgives us immediately. Please watch this video from our Holy Father, Pope Francis, who reiterates this message.
