Thank you, St. Paul of the Cross Parishioners and Students, for your very generous support to help our brothers and sisters in the Diocese of Cheyenne, WY!
On behalf of St. Paul’s Newman Center and our Campus Ministry in the Diocese of Cheyenne, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for your generous financial support. Your assistance has been instrumental in making our ministry possible, allowing us to continue serving the entire Diocese of Cheyenne with impactful campus ministry efforts. Over the past year, our ministry has served 350 students, providing them with opportunities to grow in faith, leadership, and community engagement. This work would not have been possible without your support, as the parish alone could not adequately fund the extensive programming currently offered.
Thanks to your generosity, we have continued to develop future Catholic leaders, with two Newman Center graduates recently taking positions in Wyoming parishes. Your gift has provided strengthened leadership opportunities for students, expanded faith engagement activities as we emerge from the pandemic, and supported our efforts to welcome new members into the community of faith. Additionally, your support has allowed us to foster a program where juniors and seniors gain the skills and leadership abilities necessary to participate in parish life beyond college. This initiative introduces students to prayer practices, young adult ministry, and how to advocate for their peers within the Church. Through competent speakers and engaging activities, students are learning how to transition successfully from a vibrant campus ministry setting to parish communities with fewer structured faith opportunities.
We are proud to report that we continue to employ a full-time Director of Campus Ministry who coordinates our direct ministry efforts for college-aged students. Your investment in our ministry has made a profound impact, and we remain committed to forming leaders who will serve Catholic parishes throughout the United States. Thank you once again for your ongoing support and belief in our mission. Together, we are shaping the future of the Church.
With gratitude,
St. Paul’s Newman Center Campus Ministry
On behalf of the Diocese of Cheyenne, we extend our sincere gratitude for your generous support. Your contributions have made a profound impact on our youth ministry efforts, allowing us to reach 170 individual youth this past year, with 82 attending an event for the FIRST time. Additionally, we served approximately 85 families and had 17 parishes actively participating in our events.
Through your assistance, we have been able to create impactful experiences such as youth rallies, retreats, and leadership development opportunities. The positive feedback from these events has been overwhelming, especially following our Youth Rally. Many parishes that did not initially attend have expressed strong interest in participating in future events after hearing about the experiences and seeing the positive outcomes.
A key highlight of the year has been the diverse representation of youth, including significant Hispanic and minority participation. Your support has also enabled us to launch a young leader cohort for the 2025 year, empowering 10 high school students to lead parish initiatives and make a lasting impact in their communities. These events have inspired profound spiritual growth, including students deepening their faith in the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist and a moving testimony of healing from a high school girl who found renewed hope and dignity after participating in Eucharistic Adoration:
“I have been raised in a Catholic family my entire life and always was told the Eucharist was the Real Presence of Jesus. I tried to know this and hold onto it, but I didn’t really believe it. However, after a talk given at the retreat, and opening my heart, I heard his voice for the first time in my life. Now I believe, and I know...it really and truly is the Body and Blood of Christ.” -Anonymous high school senior
We are deeply grateful for your continued support, which allows us to foster the next generation of Catholic leaders and help youth encounter the transformative love of Christ.
On behalf of the Diocese of Cheyenne, please continue to pray for the safety of our clergy as they travel to the remote locations week after week, even in less than ideal road conditions.
“The tiny mission church of St. Paul’s in Sundance, Wyoming, is bursting at the seams and working tirelessly to build a new church, and as we do, we appreciate every penny we save through the support from Catholic Extension Society. This crucial support allows me as pastor to be as present as I need to be for all the planning and meetings that go into this exciting time in the parish, even though I live 45 miles away!

“In northeast Wyoming, the west is still wild. Each Sunday morning, I swing in the saddle of my White Horse and make a 220 mile circuit, tending to the flock in our three mission Churches in Hulett, Moorcroft, and Wright. Donations from Catholic Extension Society sure help to keep the stress off of us. Thank you for your generosity.”
