The Great Adventure Catholic Bible studies provide the easiest way to understand the Bible and experience the life-changing power and love of God’s Word. Join our friendly study groups to discuss the readings and share your understanding. Then watch a video and discover in a simple way the rich story woven through Scripture so that you can make truthful sense of it. Many of our Parishioners, as well as hundreds of thousands of people, have found their lives enriched spiritually and socially. No prior Biblical experience necessary. Bible studies meet weekly at St. Paul of the Cross in the morning and evening and refreshments are provided.

The Great Adventure enables students to understand the chronological flow of the Scriptures in a way that each book of the Bible has more meaning for the reader. The author, Jeff Cavins, used this approach where he taught “Introduction to Scripture” at Franciscan University, Steubenville, Ohio. The Adult Bible Studies It is presented in groups followed by a seminar form video. These follow the Catholic Catechism, doctrines, and traditions of our Catholic faith.

The Bible is at the Heart of Our Faith…

… and our relationship with God. Scripture informs our beliefs and inspires our devotions. It is the living Word of God, where our Father meets with us and lovingly speaks to us. Reading the Bible should bring us closer to Christ, but understanding it is not always easy. Many people have tried time and again to prayerfully read Scripture, but they get frustrated because they “just don’t get it.”

What to expect

We meet weekly at the same time and day in rooms provided by St. Paul of the Cross. Students gather around tables to discuss what they learn, with coffee and treats they bring to share. We begin with a prayer, then read the opening from the Student’s Study guides. Each table reviews that week’s Bible reading and answers the questions provided. After a short break, we view the video explaining what the Bible reading means literally, morally, spiritually and theologically. We end with a short wrap-up.
