Sojourners, Welcome Home!

RCIA Candidates are Welcomed into the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil

On Saturday during the Easter Vigil celebration, we welcomed to our faith community six people from different backgrounds who chose to become Catholic and to be fully initiated in the faith.

Since last September, they’ve been going through the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) program at the parish. RCIA is the process for adults who want to become Catholic. The Catechumens (those who have not been baptized) and the Candidates (those who were baptized in different Christian denominations) are joined by Catholics who have not completed receiving the Sacraments. They have been going through months of preparation before they can receive the Sacraments and become fully initiated Catholics at the Easter Vigil. Our Sojourners (as we affectionately call them here at the parish) attended weekly sessions to learn about God, the Church and our faith. They spent time in prayer, reflection and even service, as they helped feed the needy at the Sunday Night Supper on Palm Sunday.

We ask you to please keep them in your prayers and to welcome them into our faith community.

Wishing you a Blessed Easter season!

We ask you to spread the word and to invite people to learn more about our faith by inquiring about the RCIA program. This program is also for adult Catholics who have not completed receiving the Sacraments. If you, or someone you know is interested, please call the rectory at 847-825-7605 or email
