The 2020 Edison Park Turkey Trot went virtual this year. The committee had no idea what to expect because of the pandemic. However, they were able to reimagine the event. Donations rolled in to contribute to this year’s cause, which is to support the local food pantries who have been serving more food insecure people because of COVID 19.
Fr. Britto and I were humbled to receive a $12,000 check from the event. COVID 19 has been a game changer for food pantries and social services. St. Paul of the Cross continues to meet the needs of those less fortunate because of the strong support of parishioners and the community. Many of you have participated in the Turkey Trot since it began in 1996. Thank you for continuing to walk and run the 5K on Thanksgiving mornings to help local charities. This gift will allow us to purchase food as needed along with new shelving for the food pantry.
