You may have noticed our empty lot on Summit Avenue and Ridge Terrace. A new, larger garage will be built to hold more food for our parish pantry and for much needed extra storage for the maintenance department.
Since the pandemic, a record number of food insecure people have turned to our parish pantry for help to put food on their tables. Last year at this time, we had 150 registered households This year, there are 240. Our pantry is expanding and experiencing great growing pains while trying to keep up with the increased supply and demand. Our campus has needed more storage space for a long time.
The Social Service Ministry and the Maintenance Department look forward to utilizing the new garage soon. We are glad that our parish has the resources to build the new facility. Most of all, we will be forever grateful to Fr. Britto for truly believing in our mission, and wholeheartedly supporting this greatly needed expansion.
