Bible Study

"Pope Benedict asked for greater church efforts to teach Catholics about the Bible, to help them learn to read it and pray with it, and to treat it with great dignity during the liturgy..." Catholic New World, Nov. 21 - Dec.4, 2010

Our St. Paul of the Cross Parish Bible Study began in November studying the book of Matthew. We have formed 16 groups with 120 participants. Groups meet once a month during the days or evenings to discuss one chapter. We are using a variety of study materials including the Bible, a study guide The Gospel of According to Matthew by Daniel J. Harrington, and the Ignatius Catholic Study Bible -The Gospel of Matthew as a reference book for the facilitators. Father Britto sends us monthly Reflection/Study questions with a brief brief chapter overview and he also has offered seminars for additional inspiration and understanding. We are so blessed to be learning God's Word with each other!

If you would like to join a group or start a new one please contact Carolyn Wine.

St. Paul of the Cross Mission Statement: As children of God, living in a Catholic community of faith, we are united by the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. Aware that all we have is gift and grace from our Heavenly Father, we strive to give of our time, talent and treasure to build His kingdom on earth. We live this mission, challenged by the Word, nurtured by the Sacraments, and enlivened by the Spirit, to serve our brothers and sisters in peace, justice and dignity. All are welcome on this journey.
