Adult Choir
The Adult Choir has been singing in the Upper Church for over fifty years. They are noted for having performed much of the best choral compositions written for the Church.. Presently they sing at the 10:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday and on major Holy Days. They are a very dedicated group of nearly fifty folks who see singing in the choir as a real ministry to the parish. They rehearse on Thursday evenings in Duffin Hall from 7 - 9 p.m.
Do you enjoy singing at Mass, in the car, or even in the shower? Why not consider joining St. Paul of the Cross' Adult Choir? The Adult Choir is always looking for enthusiastic people of all voice types who love to sing and who would like to participate. If you are interested in joining the adult choir please contact our music director, Ed Eicker, or call Toni Lobianco (847) 647-6516.
Music adds so much to the Liturgy, adding another dimension to the prayer of the community. Singing has a long history in our worship, starting with King David, who composed the Psalms. Come and join us and help to keep the tradition of beautiful music at St. Paul of the Cross alive and well!

Adult Choir FAQs
We sing at the 10:30 a.m. upstairs Mass from mid-September to June. We also sing at Midnight Mass, Holy Days, Holy Week and other special liturgies throughout the year.
When does the choir rehearse?
The choir rehearses on Thursday evenings in Duffin Hall from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. We meet on Sundays at 9:45 a.m. in Duffin Hall to prepare for the 10:30 a.m. liturgy.
I have a young child. Will people be upset if I can't make all the rehearsals or Masses?
Of course not. Whenever you can come your contribution will be gratefully appreciated.
Do I have to audition to join?
No audition is needed. Just a smiling face and a willingness to work hard and an ability to carry a tune!
It has been a while since I have sung in a group. Is this a problem?
No it isn't. There are choir members with different talents and levels of musical experience. We rehearse the music at least three weeks ahead of time so that everyone is used to it by the time we sing it at a liturgy. In addition, if you are new we will have you sit next to one of the "veterans" who will help you out. And when the choir is learning a new piece you won't be any different than everyone else!
Who do I ask for more information?
Call the rectory and leave a message for the choir director, Ed Eicker, or call Toni Lobianco, 847-647-6516.
