Ash Wednesday is the beginning of the holy Season of Lent, a time for penance, reflection, and fasting to prepare ourselves for the Resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ, on Easter Sunday. As we receive ashes on our forehead and are told "Remember that you are dust and to dust you shall return" we are reminded of our need for God's great mercy and redemption.
