Mission Statement: As children of God, living in a Catholic community of faith, we are united by the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. Aware that all we have is gift and grace from our Heavenly Father, we strive to give of our time, talent and treasure to build His kingdom on earth. We live this mission, challenged by the Word, nurtured by the Sacraments, and enlivened by the Spirit, to serve our brothers and sisters in peace, justice and dignity. All are welcome on this journey.

Bye, Fr. Muraya

Life is a series of hellos and good-byes. As we get older, there seem to be more good-byes than hellos. It also gets more difficult to say good-bye. When the seminary rector, Fr Barron, called me a couple of months ago informing me that Fr Muraya would be leaving, I could not believe it. Now it is happening.

I want to thank Fr Muraya with all my heart for the impressive ministry he has exercised on your behalf. He has spent the first two years of his priesthood with us. If the quality of his priestly work thus far is any indication, he is bound to do great things wherever he serves. During his tenure here, he has engaged all of you in your faith. So many of you have told me personally how you were going to miss him. He has made particular impact on our children and young people. He has always given his best and no matter what I asked him to do, he was always ready and willing.

His intelligence, his pastoral zeal, his prayerfulness and his love for people have been an inspiration to me. I have enjoyed having him as a brother priest. All of us are going to miss him. But we are happy for him because he moves on to do important things for the Church. Hopefully his ministry to seminarians will inspire many young men to follow his example.

We shall keep him in our prayers. He is not going to be far away. I have already invited him to come back to us over his summer and Christmas vacations. This will always be his home.
